The Alps are an abbreviation for the Appalachian mountains.

I got paddled ruthlessly for my comments, 10th grade.

Nottoway plantation got its name from the builder telling workers to through all boards with knots away.

Had a 8th grade La History teacher tried to teach that slaves were brought from Africa because the plantation owners didn't know how to grow crops or design and construct buildings...

Btw, this was way before Common Core.

The dumbest thing any teacher taught me was that the earth was round. It's obvious we have a flat earth

It's a contraction for "teacher has"
