Yes. And Rachel flashes them so her team can score. As a kid I wished so bad that camera had a frontal view....

This is true, but we do that during the Christmas holiday too. Usually like the night after Christmas or something. But I've seen people having them with the same people they see all the time just so they can post about it lol
it didn't happen if it's not on social media bro

It's a forced tradition to get likes on social media
What?

It’s so young adults can hang out and cook a big thanksgiving feast. Most everyone typically leaves or is busy with family during thanksgiving and has their parents take care of the entire event. Some people want to host their own thing.

Literally everything young people do is for social media. Singling Friendsgiving out as some maniacal way to get likes on social media is dumb.

It's a stupid term. Why would "friend" replace the "thanks"?

Okay downvoting halfwits, explain to me why you'd take away the essential "thanks" and replace it with the people with whom you're spending the holiday.

Would you say "Friendsmas"?

Idiots.

We fried a turkey, smoked a duck and hung out drinking beer outside while girlfriends and wives cooked and drank wine inside. Had a nice meal. I think we all prefer it to being sober, hanging around a bunch of people we have the same forced conversation with once a year.

We can't travel home for Thanksgiving so we're getting together with some friends instead.

What's so bad about that?

For real.

We had Friendsgiving last year because our friend and his wife who live in Israel were in town, and it was his wife's first time to ever visit the US and see Thanksgiving. As far as I am aware, nobody blasted it all over social media.

How someone can complain about a bunch of friends cooking and eating together is beyond me. You have the family you're born into, and you have the family you choose. For some people, the former is horrible and the latter is all they have.

I have a group of friends that do potluck parties several times a year. Everyone brings food, booze, and bud and a good time is had by all. The one closest to thanksgiving is called Friendsgiving. Definitely just an excuse to cook good food and have a party.

I usually host the one around Christmas when all our musician friends who live out of state are in town. It usually turns into an awesome jam session. It’s usually Chanukah or Festivus themed.

I guess I wouldn’t have been salty if some of the kid’s parents had been involved. Again I love these kids and give most LSU gear for Christmas. They come over to watch the Tigers every Saturday.

My GF is hosting one of these tonight. She has invited like 30 people, and her house isn't that big. Even though this wasn't my idea, and I didn't agree to anything, and I have even objected to her inviting so many damn people, apparently it is also my responsibility to help plan, and get her house ready for this fricking thing. I generally enjoy a good friendsgiving, but the logistics of this thing, and me being roped into to help host, is frickED. Women, man.

I thought that's what it's supposed to be (adding in the cooking part with hanging out). But I've seen people just getting together to drink and calling it "Friendsgiving". I didn't know that's what I've been doing when we all go in and hang out with friends on holidays is all I was saying. I don't mind it at all, it's just that I've seen people now just getting together for a night to drink and calling it that

White people doing stupid white people things. One group of white people do it, then several groups of white people do it, then a celebrity group of white people do it, then every group of white people is doing it.

Thanks Zuckerberg.

The true meaning of Friendsgiving is for friends to get together and give back to their community, all of which needs to be documented on social media.

I'm not sure I've witnessed the bolded part yet.

Your kids can't have a celebration together without the parents involved? This is a weird thread..

Probably because Thanksgiving has religious connotations and the secularists can't have that.

No, you got together with some friends to eat and/or party. We do it several times a year without ever having a name for it.

It probably definitely has absolutely zero to do with that.
