Depends. For me engineering would have been more difficult, I fricking hate math and physics.
I had little trouble with med school.

If you're an engineer, medical school. If you're a medical school student, engineering.

Getting into medical school can as challenging as medical school from what I understand.

I know three engineers that are now in med school. They spend more time studying to memorize things. They have more to memorize, so in that respect it is harder. Engineering is all about understanding concepts. If you get them, it can be easy. If not, it'll be a struggle.
They are both hard in their own ways.

I was considering doing either since tv/film might not work out. Im good at memorizing things, but not stuff like buildings, physics, chemistry or optimization.

Answering the OP:
medical school difficulty > engineering undergrad difficulty > generic "pre-med" undergrad difficulty
A career is what you make of it in any profession. None of this really gets to the point of the question.

Well, my brother got an engineering career with an undergrad degree where I had to got to 4 more years of school post grad then several more of residency.
What do you think?

2nd hand experience of a guy who did his undergrad in engineer and is now in medical school: medical school

Neither can infants and unconscious people.
Sometimes they're easier to treat than the ones who can talk

quote:This is kind of my opinion as well. There are definitely some med students that wouldn't pass upper level engineering classes. The volume of information is what really makes med school very difficult.

My dad was an electrical engineer for 5 years before he decided to go back to medical school. He said medical school in general was harder than any of the schooling/work he did for engineering.

It really depends on the individual. Engineering is more conceptual while med school is more sheer volume. My gf is in med school and is working on a Ph.D. at the same time and while the med school concepts aren't difficult (child's play compared to her Ph.D. research) there is just a vast amount of info that she is responsible for on her exams.

Engineers have a hard time with med school and med school students would have a hard time with engineering

Yea we have a "quiz" Thursday on 133 slides

I personally wouldn't be able to do Med school just based off the hours and years of school. My uncle however went to school to be an Electrical Engineer didn't like it and thought it was too hard and decided to try his hand in med school. I guess it just all depends.

Depends on your aptitude. Know a surgeon that dropped out of Engineering because he couldn't handle the math courses.

Really???
Med school is way more difficult.
Now an engineer at a refinery will naturally make more money.

What do you call a D average engineering student? The valedictorian of business school.

I guess this is a joke... You referenced a body building site.
Also that compares pre med to engineering.
