For my wedding, I grabbed breakfast with my dad, lunch with the groomsmen and other friends at Twin Peaks, then got ready at one of the groomsmen's house. Drinking happened at every meal, but nothing excessive. Limo picked us up from the house and we got to the church a couple hours early.
Someone mentioned going to the bar down the street, and the photographer thought it would make for good pics. So we walked two blocks in our tuxes and did a round of car bombs. Got some great pics, and my wife thought it was hilarious.
Sounds like the perfect plan. Can't control the guys drinking. I won't be babysitting

Yea, only thing I'd want to add is a round of golf, but there was no way to fit all that in.
The drinking was spaced out, so none of us were anywhere near wasted. Honestly, I felt stone sober as the ceremony began. Being the (runner up) center of attention can have that effect though.

Treasure Chest Casino and St. Rose driving range.

Our pastor told us that we can hang out and drink but he did not want anyone wasted. He said the only spirit he wants at the ceremony is the Holy Spirit.

Go sit at Hooters and eat and drink for a while with the guys. Something simple

I took my groomsmen out for lunch as Sicily's (we were hungover) and then we just chilled at the hotel until the limo picked us up.

Go get a good shave, lunch out, then just hang out at the place you'll be getting ready. Take it easy.
When I was best man, I took the groom for a shave and lunch, then went to his house with the other guys to chill and get ready. My wedding was during the World cup, so my mom and aunts cooked a bunch of food and we hung out at the house watching USA play someone (Ecuador?) and drank a few beers and relaxed. It's a long day.

When I was younger in weddings we would always want to do stuff during the day before and would end up rushing to get ready or someone would always go a little too hard. Once I hit my 30s most of the weddings I've been in including mine we just had a casual lunch in a suite at the hotel and chilled and relaxed while drinking a few beers and hanging out. Keep it simple, its will be a long night and everyone will have more than enough fun.

Go have a nice breakfast somewhere. Head up Magazine Street for a cigar at Mayan Import Co., or go to Don Leoncio on Canal Street THEN proceed to Aidan Gill on Magazine Street. and have your guys get a real, barbershop, hot-towel shave so you'll all look like a million bucks for the wedding.
Roll out of there and hit up one of the fine eateries on the same street for lunch.

Sleep off the hangover because you just stayed out until 5 a.m. after your rehearsal dinner. At least that's what I did.
