Missouri never has, even during the war, come to terms with whether they are southern.

Missouri seems to have a lot of competing cultures in it. St.Louis has quite a bit of Eastern to it. North of the Missouri River is pretty MidWest like, although I'm seeing a lot more confederate flags than ever. Towards the bootheel it gets southern and the Ozarks can be pretty Appalachian like. Kansas City has it's BBQ everything while having a ton of fountains and boulevards.

The flag you probably call the Confederate Flag, is the battle flag of the 1st TN Army.

Not really. South La is Catholic, which is not southern. Our cuisine is not southern either. Our accent is not southern. We are our own deal

True. The good south in the Media is East TN, Ga, SC, and North Carolina.

The shite south is AL, MS, LA, and north FL

States touching the gulf: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida

States that touch a gulf state besides Texas: Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia

Honorable mention as a southern state: South Carolina since they were first to tell the northerners to frick off

Horse shite.

Nothing about what would become Arizona and New Mexico is similar to South Carolina, for instance.

I've got no problem including Texas in the South, but belonging to the CSA is just one of many characteristics.

The south end in Tyler to the north and Baytown to the south. East Texas is absolutely southern

Beaumont has that fine shitty quality that can only be found mid-sized southern cities.
