So as you all read in my wildly popular confessional thread, I haven't read a novel in a long time. I think I'd like to read something at least a little humorous and kind of want to avoid a 700 pg book to try to avoid losing interest.

S has recommended Slapstick by Kurt Vonnegut so that's on my list.

I'm a huge KV fan, what have you read by him? I really enjoyed Cats Cradle...if you haven't cracked that one.

I don't think I've read any of his novels.

Tuff Juice.

Heard him pumping it on Rome the other day. Sounds like the perfect slump buster.

I suggest the obituaries like Otter did in Animal House to find a date in case you have issues later on.

What type of crap do you like?

I though the JFK King novel was good.
I am reading "listening" to 100 years of solitude right now. So far meh.

Bonfire of the Vanities. The movie sucked more than a passed out drunk on Banks Street. The book is great. Tom Wolfe.

They're crazy. Slaughterhouse 5 is good too, I liked the subject matter of Cats Cradle better though. I need to look at Slapstick. I usually read tougher novels, like a Pynchon, and I find myself reading huge chunks of CV books in one sitting. His writing is really effortless and interesting...to me at least.
