Got tired of school. Started just working. Then I got tired of working BS jobs

quote:Pretty shitty statement. I know plenty of people who came from affluent families who joined. I wanted to, but medical reasons stopped recruiters from even spending the time to talk to me.
Probably those who come from modest socioeconomic backgrounds who don't want to attend college or start working
My motivation was that I wouldn't mind the extra GI Bill $, and thought it would be fun and a challenge to see how far I could push myself

It paid for my college on the GI Bill. only thing I had to pay was a registration fee of like $50.00. best deal around got out of college with no debt.

Knew I wouldn't study because I had shite for discipline. Joined the Marine Corps so I wouldn't have to wear a dog bowl on my head.

I think the military is a great way to pay for college if your parents aren't capable and you don't get scholarships

Wait. I have to raise my kids for 18 years AND send them to college for free? Lol no. Those spoiled shits can work or GTF.

The desire to serve. I received no tuition assistance and joined after graduating and still have student loans. I can trace my direct familial military lineage to the Revolutionary War.
