I saw a tesla on the road on Monday.

That is one fine arse looking machine. I'm waiting for somebody to produce a gas/electric performance vehicle. If you could figure out how to handle the step load from flooring it, you could have one badass performer.

A front motor and a rear motor seems like an impractical system with twice the maintenance concerns and twice the potential for mechanical problems. The Corvette C7 has 5 modes, including an Economy mode that uses only 4 cylinders.

Hitting the "insane" button engages both at the same time, allowing you to reach 60 mph in just over 3 seconds -- and scare the pants off friends and family members, if you use it without warning.

the frick are you talking about? How does this vehicle relate in anyway to a magazine capacity ban?

Well, if California is so concerned about public safety (the reason for all the lefty firearm restrictions) then how can it justify allowing a vehicle that goes 0-60 in less than 3 seconds safe?

The Tesla goes 0-60 in 3.1 seconds.....I doubt it would have gotten "dusted"!

Certainly not dusted, but the Hellcat outperforms the Tesla in both 0-60 and 1/4 mile...and for close to half the price.

But yeah, I love where we are heading with electric motors. I'd love to have a BMW I8. New ones appreciate almost immediately.

This car is awesome, it recently destroyed a Challenger Hellcat on the drag strip....& it's a SEDAN!

Well the Tesla is direct drive with no transmission, not to mention about $50k more. But I'll take the Hellcat in case I want to drive more than 250 miles a day.

The Hellcat does not have a faster 0-60 without modifications, I am not sure about the 1/4 mile

No. Those are hybrids.

I'm talking engine turning a big alternator and the propulsion being fully electric.

Oh no doubt...in fact I would have the Hellcat Charger over both of those. Tesla S is impressive (seen a few around S'Port) but only if it's your 2nd car. No way in hell would I be completely dependent on our electrical grid & have to wait for at least 30 min @ a fracking Supercharger station for a recharge.

I've seen a lot of different numbers for the Hellcat. The fastest is 3.0 0-60. I know a lot of test drivers have issues with traction. 1/4 mile times are low 10's.

So yeah, grab a set of tires for the rear that are super sticky and wider than stock (I think stock is 245, and can go up to 275s on 8" stock 8" wheels) and a Tesla should be no problem.

Still 50K less.

More HP and Torque from the Hellcat and less weight.

Oh, hmm. I guess the i3 would be like that then? all electric motor with an optional ICE to recharge batteries.
