Post the searches. We all need to see them. I had to post the letter above so people can read facts.

Same as my comment on the COA thread. We are allowing this to happen to us.

The Industrial Tax Exemption Program, or ITEP, has been been around for decades. It gives manufacturers a break on their property taxes for capital projects.

These union leaders are pure idiots. They blame private businesses that are investing money back into the local economy, and ignore the fact that Louisiana is one of the highest taxed states in the country, with a budget the size of PA's state government, and then don't even consider holding politicians accountable for under-funding education.

Second, the EBRSS spends over 10 or 11 thousand dollars per student. Compare that to good Texad school districts and you will see that EBR spends more.

That is twice as much as the ISDs around Houston. My school district is spending roughly $4500 per student.

Together BR and Together LA are the same organization in the same building.

This is the mission statement of Together LA
quote:

The mission of Together Louisiana is to give faith and community-based organizations an opportunity to develop the leadership capacity of their members and affect change on a larger scale than they could alone. Together Louisiana currently is working on issues that include tax fairness, access to healthcare, flood recovery, access to healthy food, workforce development, criminal justice reform and improving infrastructure and transportation.

Here's a mission statement for Together BR
quote:

Together Baton Rouge is a broad-based coalition of congregations and community-based organizations in the Greater Baton Rouge area, with the capacity to address community problems large and small. The coalition has been deliberately to cross the lines of race, religion, neighborhood and political affiliation. It works on issues affecting families and communities, and is a strictly non-partisan organization.

They're both admitting that they're using churches and their leaders to push for specific political policies. I don't understand how that doesn't violate their tax exemption status.

Guess who's at the top of TBR's member list:

AFL-CIO

All that money goes to the general fund! Then millions more go to city and parish!
You can't take more than that pal.

The way they do it is they go to these churches with the warm and fuzzy meetings and get some support from a few members and the pastor. Then they list the pastor as a member of their committee. They do this with as many church congregations as they can, then they go to the legislators pushing whichever item is next on their socialist agenda and telling them, "Look we have the full support of every member of all these churches on our side." Even though only a small number of each congregations support them and hardly any of them even know that this legislation is being pushed.

Your post is spot on. I believe they got a few of the retarded Catholic priests to buy in if I remember right.

There are a ton of Together BR bumper stickers on vehicles driven by ugly white liberals in the Garden District/Mid-City area. I want to run them off the road every time I see one.

Yep, one is the pastor at my parish. He's also second in command for the Diocese. Good news is he retires in less than 3 yrs.
