They have no grasp on economics or what funds their infrastructure. As pathetic as it is at present, try and imagine taking Exxon out of the equation and see what you get.

Read my link above and you will see EXACTLY what Exxon contributes to the Parish.

Wonder why all of Exxon's new projects are going to Texas.

First, I believe an honest, open discussion about these tax exemptions is necessary. Exemptions that bring a proportional number of new jobs is fine, but exemptions that avoid taxes but do not bring permanent jobs need to be eliminated.

Second, the EBRSS spends over 10 or 11 thousand dollars per student. Compare that to good Texad school districts and you will see that EBR spends more. We do not have a money.

Third, I mentioned that we need an honest discussion about these tax breaks, but this isn't an honest discussion. It's class warfare, it's us versus them, big v little and it's not based on facts.

TBR is s divisive group. They will pretend to be a unifier but when it comes to getting their agenda passed; they will divide, use class warfare and do anything to help them win.

I heard that all of the St. George schools are going to be super nice and up to date and the teachers won't have to come out of pocket for anything.

Teacher's Union

These idiots believe that money grows on trees. The teachers unions are some of the most misguided socialist wannabes in the country.

I find it hilarious that they try to project themselves as something other than an ACORN, socialist/Marxist org. Aren't they funded by some Chicago-area organization?

I know. However, it's ignorant to dismiss someone's intelligence based on their appearance.

They're wrong because their position is not supported with facts. They're not wrong because they're black.

Moral of this story, dont teach in east Baton Rouge parish!

If you want to be a teacher in that area, teach in Livinston, Zachary or Central community schools, St Tammany parish and if no where else Tangipahoa.

Not sure it would matter since this seems to be a parish level issue.

Man, that's a great response. It makes TBR look like a bunch of fools that didn't do their homework. I love how he put TBR "economists" in parentheses. If I were a teenager I would say it's "savage", but I'm 33 so I can't say that. Of course, that information will not sway any of their leaders in the least.

Teacher's unions are there to get as much money, benefits, etc. for their members. They are not there to improve education.

They are for higher salaries and tenure, but against setting teaching standards and insuring they are met.
