I would guess most women don't know how to change the oil in their car. Why when you can go pay $20 and have someone else do it for you.
So I'm not just being a "dumb" bitch a-hole

I can do 2 out of 3, so not too bad for a chick.
Never been taught to change the oil. Just to always monitor the oil level.

I changed my oil once and that was only because I had access to the motor pool garage. I'd rather pay someone to knock it out so I can do other shite

- How to use a computer. Lotta 45+ women getting left behind/let go at the past few places I've worked because they don't know Excel commands, keyboard shortcuts, etc.. and they don't know how to Google something in order to learn how to do it.
- Everyone should know proper grammar. There was a pretty hilarious thread on the FDB yesterday where someone affiliated with a restaurant joined TD to defend the place when someone had a critique of it. Every single post they made was riddled with improper grammar, so even if they would have had a point, they sounded like a complete tard.
- Know how to research and repair small things. Especially your A/C.
- How to budget. Dad was just telling me the other day how he works with guys my age making six figures and constantly broke.
- Understand credit. The money talk on this website is good, as is /r/personalfinance. Almost as important as budgeting, understanding how to use credit in a positive way will help a lot down the line. Especially if you're just starting out and have no credit.
- How to cook. You don't have to be a Michelin starred chef, but if you can't cook for yourself, you are going to blow a lot of money and be unhealthy/fat. Knowing basics (how to braise, bake, sautee, etc.) will allow to to make most anything.
- Manners/how to not look like an asshat in a nice restaurant. Unless you're working blue collar forever, you will one day find yourself in a situation where it is important to display reasonable manners. "Act like you've been here."

No shame in that whatsoever. I know how to change my oil, but it isn't worth it these days so I pay to have it done. You'll never be in an emergency where you need to change your oil. That may happen with your tire or battery, but your oil will not be something you do on the side of the road.

Cook some basics
How long they have when the fuel light comes on
How to turn on/off the water to their house if they are living in one.
