I fcking hate people who think like this. Idiots.
I'm not reading past the OP because I can't stand rednecks who want to have a dck measuring contest about every natural disaster.

Social media is speeding up the downfall of society at an alarming rate.

Well, it looks like what we've here is a lot of agitated deflection from the SLA/looter crowd.
I think the man has a valid point. The wind in NOLA was not what people to evacuate; it was the rising waters.
The brotherly harmony we're all living in here in God's Country is a testament to the character of the baws you find in NLA versus SLA.
Please don't take offense, I'm sure some of you could pass for NLA baws if you worked on it.

Yeah the looters seem to have their panties in a bunch. I guess anytime your lack of morality is put on stage for everyone to view you are likely to be offended

I helped and received help from a shite ton of people in South Louisiana. Just because that is not what made the news doesn't mean it didn't happen in large quantities.
I think if this person was as generous as he thinks he is he wouldn't have time to think or even post this nonsense. I was away from social media and pretty much all Internet communication for quite a while after disasters because I was busy HELPING PEOPLE or working with the people HELPING ME.
I think this person needs to get off his high horse and practice what he preaches.

There's no doubt there would still have been a massive amount of FEMA/government assistance in the NOLA and South LA areas. But the sole reason that Katrina became what it was, was the people it affected. We're talking New Orleans flooding in some of the poorest ghetto's in the country. Some of the most violent areas in the United States completely unregulated for days. And there's a big difference between rising flood waters from rain, and flooding from a broken levee when emergency personnel cannot do anything because there's a hurricane going on.
I know many people severely affected by Katrina, but never received any assistance other than dealing with their insurance company. Trying to compare this just stupid.

1577 deaths vs 4 deaths...seems comparable.

Number of people killed in Japenese Tsunami: The confirmed death toll is 15,894 as of February 10, 2016.
What's your point NOFOX?
Nobody in Japan rioted or killed or raped people in the superdome.
CNN
No excuse for the victim mentality and people looting in NOLA after Katrina.

Tokyo (CNN) -- I've been asked questions along this theme multiple times, from my friends and family in the United States to colleagues who work around the globe: How, amid Japan's worst natural disaster in 100 years, can the Japanese seem so calm?
Food and water are both scarce. Electricity in the tsunami zone is nearly nonexistent. Survivors have lacked information about their missing loved ones.
But unlike other disasters where the world has observed looting, rioting and public outbursts of sorrow and rage, it has seen a country quietly mourning, its people standing patiently for hours in orderly lines for a few bottles of water.

This happened all around SLA as well. The media chose to focus on NO and the cluster there.

My point is the scope of the catastrophes and strength of storms is not comparable with respect to the OP.
If NLA had the population density and level of destruction and lack of resources/law enforcement as during Katrina, shitheads would have looted. Pretending like North Louisiana doesn't have shitheads who would loot given the chance is stupid.
Nobody in Japan rioted because they are a completely different culture that values honor much more than ours.
