What Does the OT Think About this FB post (NLA Flood v. SLA Flood Related)

We took on more rainfall than Hurricanes Katrina or Rita. We have no help from FEMA, no Martial Law, no grandstanding by opportunistic politicians, and most importantly, no looting, shooting or random destruction of property. Thank you, North Louisiana, for taking care of each other. We are on our own, and that's okay. We are showing the world what true Louisiana is all about.
I guess the old song is true; country folks can survive.
One of my favorite baws had this posted on the facebook earlier, and I immediately knew I should appeal to the OT for guidance on how to feel about it.

That's not entirely true. The leaching black folk and white trash are bitching and whining around here just like they were down there. The good people nut up and handle their business. No difference really

There is no NLA. LA ends at I-10.
Everything above that is a combination of Landmass and Southern Arkansas.

My thoughts on it are that making a contest out of natural disasters is fricking dumb.

Only difference is the amount of these people

Entire 5 story condos along the Gulf Coast disappeared during Katrina. The only thing left was the slab.

So Spike Lee isn't going to do a North Louisiana flood documentary?

I've heard of numerous people not having flood insurance. Let's let the water recede before we start talking about FEMA and govt support.

Its true, but the ghettos in Shreveport and Monroe didnt flood. New Orleans ghettos flooded. Different class of people affected.

The federal government has declared a major disaster for Louisiana, allowing the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide federal disaster assistance in recovery efforts in the areas affected by days of severe storms and floods, according to the office of Gov. John Bel Edwards on Sunday (March 13). The funding will go to individuals affected in Bossier, Claiborne, Grant, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, and Webster parishes, FEMA said. Although aid will affect northwest Louisiana, there is no declaration yet for southeast Louisiana.

for 2 years I lived north of I-10 in the Baton Rouge Garden District. I had to get on anxiety medication to deal with it.
