For me it's not the actual part of dying that gets me. It's knowing that one day I won't be able to wake up and see a smiling face. I won't be able to watch a sunrise, or a sunset.

well, i'm sorry you have so much fear over this unknown to you.
how do you KNOW what you will see or not see?

your fears are yours, but you don't need to keep them.

Man, if someone I knew came back and told me that Heaven and Hell were real, I swear on whatever is out there my arse would be in church damn near every day praying for forgiveness. I'm agnostic. I know there is something of a higher power, but I just have no idea what that higher power is.

If a believer with Paul then ....[2 Corinthians 5:8] 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

Death is the ultimate adventure.
That's why they save it for last.

You know the scene from Return Of The Jedi? When Annakin, Ben and Yoda are standing together after each had passed into another realm and consciousness. Yeah it's nothing like that...

I think it's like when you sleep. Sometimes when I sleep I am knocked the hell out (not even dreaming) until morning. I think it's like that. You aren't even aware of what's happening. I have no idea if there's an afterlife. I'd like to think so.

When I was little I thought dreams were views of heaven or the afterlife.

Lights out but the part they don't tell you about is when the coroner fricks your corpse.

I'm going with something afterwards.

The alternative is too depressing, and if it's not true, then it won't matter any way.

It definitely is depressing that when we die, for the rest of eternity we will never see, feel, or experience anything ever again. But the only suffering that it will cause is the sadness we feel right now thinking about it. I know I didn't long to be alive the billions of years before I was born so I won't when I'm dead either.

And without fail, every time I think about this shite I think about how much time we waste doing stuff that doesn't make us happy like working or worrying about bills, all so we can achieve some perceived status in society that ultimately means nothing.
