I believe your core energy, soul, conscience, whatever you want to call it, leaves the body and fades into another dimension. Sometimes you come back into this world, sometimes you don't.

Don't get me wrong. I hope I go out that way. But the idea of death terrifies me.

On top of that, there's only about a 4% chance we're coming back to this country, assuming we're dealing with this planet only

Really???? I LOVE Life...I have had a horrible year health wise BUT I enjoy life...But I am not afraid of death... When the good lord is ready for me, he will take me.......... I have been put asleep 9 times this year for surgery. Everytime I wasn't sure I would wake up... But was comfortable if I didn't........

I was once told by the Dalai Lama that when I die, on my deathbed, I will receive total consciousness.

You don't "receive" total consciousness. there is consciousness. there
is no one to "receive" it. you are it. that's all there is.

I would love to have a discussion with the Dalai Lama. I saw him live last year, attacking another sect leader for being too modern in their approach to healing.

We become part of the æther...the otherrealm.

Sometimes realms can touch, sometimes things/people/energy can pierce the veil.

I dont think there are many people that have any excitement or joy at the thought of death, but it's just one of those things we all have in common and have to do.

For me it's not the actual part of dying that gets me. It's knowing that one day I won't be able to wake up and see a smiling face. I won't be able to watch a sunrise, or a sunset. I won't be able to laugh with friends, and cry with my family. These thoughts are literally so crippling to me that I have to fall asleep watching TV, or playing on my phone so I don't lay awake at night thinking of it all. I know we all die, but i'm not ready for it. Maybe when it's my time I will be, but not right now. Sometimes at night I catch myself thinking about it and it's an instant lump in the throat. I try curling up next to my wife for reassurance but it doesn't work. Thankfully she understands the difficulties I have with sleeping right away. I just wish there was some way to circumvent these thoughts and get them to go away.

You enter a world of animated cartoons and you become a cartoon character. You do get to choose the character though.

[Hebrews 9:27] 27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

For some reason I'm terrified of dying of a heart attack. Way too common and has to be painful as shite.

Outside of the that I agree with your post. Not being able to laugh, lsu football, friends, family, etc.
