Kind of a goofy thing to post, but if one comes up I'll post it.

I would like to attend.

Yeah.. I mean, it's all relative, really. If Covington High existed as is, but were located in Orleans Parish, it would be regarded as a beacon of public education.

Dude, even awful New Orleans schools (e.g. McMain, Karr, Warren Easton) score as well or better than CHS on the state's website. The handful of good NOLA public high schools (e.g. Lusher, Ben Frank) surpass CHS by leaps and bounds. When your school is on the same or worse level than Lil Wayne's alma mater, you go to a shitty school.

I'm not a fan of Pineview, but Pitcher is a good school. I think the people who wouldn't ever send their kids there have probably never lived anywhere but St. Tammany or have only had experience with private schools. I don't know about Covington High yet. My SO grew up here (St. Paul's) and was horrified when my little one was moved to Lyon last year. (They have the majority of disabled students in WStT and are set up for his needs). He went to the IEPs with me and walked out in disbelief. Said he thinks it gets a lot of hate because of the location and the fact that that it's older, but we could not have been happier with them. I wouldn't send my dog to Covington Elem, though.

Lee Harvey Oswald missed the cut since he was in Covington during the 1950's

Yeah, he lived at 321 N. Vermont next to the Thai restaurant. It was a Boarding house at the time. He attended school at the building on Jefferson that is now the CJ Schoen Administration building.

Same building Governor Earl K. Long's sanity hearing took place.

Pistol Pete lived very close to this area up until his death.

There was a large square cement structure in the ground. There was a smaller cement outhouse by that and there were some cement "pillars" nearby.

Sorry, I don't have any info to add to those structures. Now, I have seen concrete in-ground structures west of Madisonville. They were used for dipping cattle ... had a sloped bottom.
