live here, never hear anybody local saying anything about it, other than people living one place saying they prefer it over the other

The competition is multi-pronged anyway and it is over economic development, which is legit and healthy.

most of these city rivalries spawn from a sports thing anyways. Most are football. This one just so happens to be about baseball

Nashville people don't dislike Memphis in the least. Most of my local friends are big Grizz fans actually.

LA's rival cities are supposedly SF and maybe NYC. I say supposedly because very few people in LA are aware of any rivalry with any city unless it's directly sports team related. Either way if we have a rivalry with SD it's news to me.

Nah, more like Memphis vs Little Rock

You know either nothing about Memphis or a ton more about Little Rock than I do (admittedly little) if you think anyone here gives a frick about LR.

I live less than four miles from Arkansas and I know of nobody who lives across the bridge. I know quite a few people who grew up in Arkansas but they all live here and have since HS, or at the latest, college. Memphis' outgrowth goes east and south (somewhat north) and NEVER west. We have 100x the suburbans living in Mississippi than Arkansas.
