Have done a nice job so far of showing other parts of the city besides the ninth ward. Everything I have ever seen from the national media acts like only the ninth ward saw any damage.

Such a horrible time.

I'm going to watch the Robin Roberts special on ABC at 9. I've heard it is going to be very special. Capo had an amazing piece today about it also.

I'm happy when all areas of Katrina destruction get their coverage. I really am.
Every one down here knows how fcked up it was for the MS gulf coast. I don't want anyone to ever try and take that story away from them.

The only thing that pisses me off is when the rednecks chime in with their crap about the city and it's recovery.

To all who went through it in any way and came back.

They also act like New Orleans was the only city affected by the storm.

I'm going to be staying away from these threads. The trolls will be out and I'm not falling for it.

Blame that on the media, not the people of New Orleans.

Yeah, it's going to be a rough week. The media will overhype this shite. The rednecks can't stand N.O. stories. It's going to suck all the way around.
Then you add in Obama and the other dumb fricks being here and it will be great times around here.

We had people from Waveland Mississippi who evacuated to our little town. I remember hugging a lady and all she could get out was that her babies blankets (keepsakes as her kids were now older) were 20 and 30 feet up in the trees.

A month later, when we had to evacuate for Rita, you can bet that my kids treasured baby blankets evacuated with me.

Horrible time for everyone.

Hopefully, but it wouldn't surprise me either way. It seems society as a whole takes any tragic situation and turns it into a divisive event.

Redneck steal away your girl?
You seem mad at them.
They must wear a shirt or name tag that identifies themselves as such the way you make it sound.
