It seems like the company has a policy against buying cookies for people that the kid violated.

On the contrary, if true, that kid has the PR upperhand and can probably name his position with the company.

franchises are locally owned so not a very high corporate ceiling for the kid

not according to the reprimand. he was reprimanded for the confrontation with the customer, not buying the cookie for the cop. Will be interesting to see what the management side of the story is if we ever hear it.

any way what is interesting to me is how fast this kind of stuff takes off and where it ends up over a few days

sounds like this location had a previous PR problem on June 22 with free or discounted cookie cakes.

Wait until the truth comes out that the kid is on a week suspension for spitting in some cops cookie and he made up the story as cover to his mom to explain why he is on suspension.

Demands free stuff...told no...screams racism...threatens an attack.

What's not to believe. Happens everyday.

That wasn't the way that I read it but it could have been. There's always more to these stories.

It says "he bought a cookie for a police officer and a customer wanted to physically fight him" it does state "if this happens again he will be terminated."

It sounded like the purchase of the cookie was the offense and the angry customer part was the result. I just assume that writing someone up has to be for violating a policy or code of conduct.

On the one hand, I wholeheartedly support the making great of America again.

On the other, GACC cookies are fricking delicious.

I think you have to read the moms write up and then compare it to the reprimand letter to get a more comprehensive view

My guess is the store manager dealt with it, the kid was fine and then someone higher up found out about the incident and told the store manager to write him up and suspend him for a week.

Kid goes home and tells his mom what happened and she takes the story to Facebook

So the kid tried to buy cookies for a police officer (weird)

The police officer allows a teenager to buy him cookies (weird)

A family becomes so outraged by this simple transaction that they start calling him racist and the dad even tries to physically attack him behind the counter, even though there was a policeman present

The "upper managers" of this mall cookie booth fire the kid despite him getting a $2/he raise literally yesterday

Everyone but the local store manager here is in the wrong. Kid shouldn't be buying customers stuff, dumbass other customer overreacted, and corporate should treat it as a learning experience.

The kid had good intentions, but he was in the wrong and needs to own up to it without mommy whining to the media.

The customer who bitched is an absolutely pathetic human being. I saw an old dude flip out at an understaffed Taco Bell that his food was cold yesterday and these type of people just flat out suck.

My son offered to pay for his cookie with his own money.

Did he actually do that, or did he just give the cop one of GAC's cookies? It says later he "bought" a cookie for a cop, but I need to see a receipt.

Mitch Hedberg had a bit about being offered a receipt for a doughnut. He said could not imagine a scenario where he would have to prove that he bought a doughnut. This is it, Mitch.

Is he allowed to buy a cookie for a cop? Isn't that considered bribery?

1. You've never heard of restaurants comping a cop for his meal?

2. What was he trying to influence the cop to do?

frick that place for giving in to the dregs of society.
That's one of the main problems with society right now. People in power are giving in and giving legitimacy to the absolute worst elements of society.

It's baffling.
