I think the evidence is inconsistent - over the years I've wavered over whether it was even physically possible for that kid to do that shooting. I know accept that it is physically possible, but I still don't believe he did.

I visited Dealy Plaza last year following the LSU/TCU game. I went to the museum, and stood at the window next to Oswald. Let me tell you, that shot was much closer in person than it looks on old footage. The first shot would have taken place when Kennedy was almost directly underneath Oswald. The building in right on top of the road. X's have been placed in the road where the shots took place, and the car would not have been very far away from Oswald. I think the car was only traveling at about 8 mph at the time.

It's unfortunate that many people will come to this conclusion based on a movie;
People had opinions about multiple shooters long before Stone's movie came out.

Was a result of our first real humiliation on the foreign policy front. Castro was kinda pissed we tried to over-throw him and used the Dixie Mafia to do his dirty work.

NOT one gunman.

Joe Pesci was awesome in his role, I only really recall his lines.

Kennedy created so many damn enemies that I think it's common sense to conclude there was a conspiracy. Stone's version is not sensible, however, even if it makes for good cinema

You're only telling half the story. After KEnnedy used the mafia to try to kill Castro (while banging one of the gun molls on the side), him and RFK turned around and tried to prosecute the living shite out of the mob.

You want to see something far, far, far closer to the truth of what happened in Dallas on November 22, 1963? Watch the 1993 ABC Special hosted by Peter Jennings--pay special attention to the computer recreation of the assassination, based on the Zapruder film. Watch carefully--and learn

This. And CBS did a shooting reenactment in the late 60's to see if it was even possible for someone to get the proper shots off in the allotted time at a target moving that speed. It showed it was very possible.

I believe Oswald did it and did it alone. What may be so hard for some to believe (and myself for a long time) was that one idiot could do it and change the world. I think JFK's second term would have put him in the top tier of presidents. Find 'JFK: A President Betrayed' - excellent documentary about what he was planning to do and how some of his staff went behind his back regarding Vietnam and the removal of troops. I also believe RFK would have been a good president but that's a whole other topic.

This Frontline episode from 1992 makes a very persuasive argument for the NOLA Mob's culpability. LINK

That's what I've always thought after reading about everything surrounding JFK at the time.

JFK was in bad shape physically. I don't know if he could have last another 6 years. He was already addicted to every pain killer available, legally and illegally.

took many liberties. the supposed eyewitnesses of the other shots from the grassy knoll are completely discredited. 1 was a notorious reporter of false alarms to the police, another was a young woman that was actually on a videotaped interview by a news organization saying that she saw nothing and another woman was a stripper that could not even verify that she was living in Dallas at the time.

the best documentary I ever saw on this was done by Dan Rather on CBS back in the nineties. it was a 3 part show and it was really fascinating. at the end Dan Rather said that he really wanted to prove that there was a conspiracy and multiple shooters, but that he had firmly concluded that Oswald acted alone

it was a great documentary and I've always wanted to get my hands on a copy

Terrible movie, zero facts, and completely unsubstantiated.

The Warren Commission Report has been challenged from every angle for decades now, and the key facts supporting this conclusion have are as solid as ever.

Conspiracy theorists like Stone always have to use the same tactics to support their ideas: omission of facts and/or outright lies.

This will be one of those events that always has a large amount of conspiracy theories.

Oswald did it by himself, but the questions will always be there.

Yet the House Select Committee concluded that Kennedy's death was likely the result of a conspiracy.

There are many viewpoints from which to base your theory on what happened.

Conspiracy theories abound, and they become progressively more fantastic as previous ones are (pun not intended) shot down.

HOWEVER … has anyone considered the possibility that two gunmen UNBEKNOWN TO EACH OTHER … zeroed in on Kennedy and Connally from different vantage points? Me personally, I consider this quite unlikely, but still more plausible than any conspiracy theory I've encountered.

the best explanation for Oswald's motivations and the lone gunman theory that I've read is a book called Brothers in Arms.. highly recommended.
