Read Dr. Mary's Monkey....

This is an excellent book that never got any real play.

Jim Garrison's "On the Trail of the Assassins" should be required reading, as well as "JFK has been Shot", by Charles Crenshaw, M.D., one of the Parkland ER doctors who worked on Kennedy.

After reading, just ask a few simple questions and it will become clear that the story is far more complex than Oswald just showing up at work that day and deciding to gun down the President.

Maybe one day we'll know the whole story...

I saw a pretty interesting documentary on netflix. The assertion was that one of the secret service guys in the car behind him that was carrying an M-16. (There are photos showing him with the rifle.)

Their assertion is that after the shots were fired he raised up at the ready. When the chase car accelerated forward he started to fall backwards. When he did this he inadvertently pulled the trigger. That bullet was the devastating shot that blew apart his head.

At the time the M16 used a 1/12 twist on the barrel. This made the bullet prone to yaw upon entry. This caused the fragmentation at the cannulare (crimp) on the projectile. Read early reports of damage from the 5.56 round in combat in Vietnam. It was like being shot with a grenade.

Also, seems like the entry hole at the back of his head was smaller than the round out of LHO's rifle. I think it was more consistent with a 5.56.

Some liberties is an understatement.

One shooter, arrested, shot. People that know are dead, people that think they know contradict each other and the truth will never come out now.

Some? How about 80%.

Oswald shot JFK plain and simple.

I think JFK's second term would have put him in the top tier of presidents.

His first was fairly poor. He admittedly got bested by Khrushchev in Vienna, the Berlin wall went up on his watch, and the Bay of Pigs was a disaster. He is only looked upon fondly because he was assassinated.

One of the reasons the murder was never solved is that everyone is constantly focused on the wrong thing.

If you are really interested in the topic, start doing some digging on Bobby Kennedy. Compare Bobby pre and post murder to see some revelations.

Here is a really good but long article on the subject:
LINK

It is also interesting to note that once Bobby made a run for the presidency, they took him out.

He also fricked Marilyn Monroe in the White House. One of the greatest accomplishments by ANY U.S. President.

Oswald was the lone shooter. Having been there and stood in that window I can tell you that it was an easy shot for anyone with moderate firearms training. The scale you perceive from video and pictures of the scene is way off. It's a much smaller area than you think. He also had a perfect vantage point.

That said, there's waaaaaaay too many oddities about Lee and connections to intelligence services to believe he wasn't put up to it and was just a nut.

A 19 year old with an 8th grade education defects to the Soviet Union and shows up speaking and reading Russian. Well enough that his would-be wife thought he was not a native but most likely from Latvia or Estonia. And then when he becomes "disillusioned" the US State Department gives him a grant to afford to fly back home. And he did this while still in the service but wasn't tried for desertion or as a traitor despite telling American authorities in Moscow that he planned to give the Soviets what secrets he knew about the U2's radar signature. None of that makes sense. Multiple, huge problems with that story. How'd he learn fluent Russian? Why on earth would our own government pay his way home? Why wasn't he prosecuted? His defection was in the NYT. It wasn't a huge national scandal at the time, but it was publicized.

He ran a pro-communist political organization, the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, of which he was the ONLY MEMBER, out of the same small New Orleans office building as Guy Bannister, a right wing radical anti-communist and former FBI agent and rumored CIA associate. That doesn't add up, does it?

His only friend in Dallas was George de Mohrenschildt, a CIA associate and wealthy White Russian (the enemy of the communist Bolsheviks Lee admired). Kind of strange bedfellows, wouldn't you say?

It's all too much to believe he's just some loser acting on his own. The dude was tied to multiple CIA affiliates and ran some sort of intelligence game by going to Russia. Add in his being raised poor by a single mother in a time when that was rare, moving around the country constantly as a kid, precociousness mixed with some kind of defiant streak or learning disability, brothers all in the military, and you have the perfect makings of the kind of person the CIA targeted to do work for them.

This is what I think, too. Oswald was no angel and he had the ways and means to take out JFK on his own.

However, I do think there's enough smoke to wonder if there was an actual conspiracy and more than person planned the assassination. I think you could argue about the mob connection or even CIA connection. He wasn't some lone loser or nutter.

People don't realize Dallas PD Detective Jim Leavelle (tan suit), Oswald and Jack Ruby (on the ax) once were in a garage band together. It was a killer gig.

I saw this same special and believe it to be the most plausible of all. Done by an Aussie detective that focused on the JFK killing from a strictly police/forensics point of view.

Came to the conclusion that while Oswald did hit the pres with the first shots (after a possible miss)the killing shot was the accidental discharge of the then brand new M-16 by the Secret Service agent in the car following Kennedy.
What I believe this version helps explain is why all the hush-hush about the autopsy, faked x-rays ,etc. Don't believe Oswalds part was the biggest cover-up (obviously Russian/Cuban ties) but the REAL cover up was the Secret Service covering up for their inadvertant mistake and being a very-likely cause of the killing shot on Kennedy.

?

Russian intelligence wanted nothing to do with LHO after his sojourn to USSR. They realized correctly that he was an unbalanced weirdo idiot and viewed him as a liability and pain in the arse.

His connection with Cuban intelligence is where things got tricky.
