If the patient isn't there on time, move them to the back of the line. You never keep your appointment so why expect them to do it?

The fact is, doctors simply don't care. It's of no concern to them.

I've walked out on doctors before for doing this. My endocrinologist is fricking famous for calling you back immediately then having you sit 45 minutes. Not even any magazines or anything. fricker. great doctor, but this shite pisses me off. I have told him. He apologizes, but then his practice is one of the largest in Atlanta. Not much I can do.

The only thing we know for sure is that keeping an appointment isn't part of their character.

That whole spiel was on email communication, which is different than both telephone and mail, in that each email address is typically assigned to a single user.

Yep, years of succeeding at being where they are supposed to be at all hours of the clock when they are supposed to be there all in preparation to care for whiny people like you proves that.

Yes and no. You still can't guarantee an email is safe or private. Emails were permitted; however, they encouraged them to take extra safeguards such as email verification processes and such. I highly doubt any physician has time to verify their patient's emails.

I have found that the patients who get most upset about me running late, are the ones who are most likely to take up 3x their allotted appointment time with ridiculous complaints.

i'm sorry you think the $5 generic prescription is too expensive, and no, i cannot give you a bag full of supplies from the drawer so you don't have to buy your own

The same people that complain about having to wait are the same people that complain about the doctor "rushing" through appointments. Yall would find something to whine about either way. That's why it doesn't bother the doctor too bad when you complain.

Fire the sonofabitch and get another practitioner of the brutal craft.
Explain to your new guy that your time is valuable and that they are on notice.
If they do not measure up, poor mouth the cocksucker to everyone who will listen.
Do not enable poor business practices just because the business owner has an MD by his name.
Or, keep on letting them take your money while providing sub-standard service.

Agreed. I have been the first appointment for multiple different doctors, and had to wait sometimes up to an hour. These also weren't doctors that did anything at hospitals, so that wasn't the cause of them being late. I've also walked out on a few doctors after making me wait over an hour and a half.

I go to the walk-in places now, unless I am unconscious or specifically need to see a specialist. They are much faster (meaning you only have to wait 15 minutes at the longest). It is just easier.

Eta: I also don't bullshite around talking about every single thing I have wrong with me at the time. I give them pertinent information for diagnosis of that one problem and that is all

While this is sound, albeit vulgar, advice for most business transactions and certainly pplicable to sub standard care, I would caution you that your words have consequences. You may find the only office willing to see you is a doc in a box that specializes in sub standard care and snake oils.

The absolute worst place is the emergency room at any hospital. I went in because I needed stitches once. They had me wait 6 hours in the waiting room, that was damn near empty the entire time. When I finally saw a doctor, she didn't want to give me stitches because it had been almost 10 hours since I got the cut. I flipped my shite and went to a walk-in.

I have had a lot of stitches, and it got to the point where I'd purposely agitate and open up cuts so they would bleed before I went into the emergency room. One time, I pulled a big flap of skin off of my finger so it bled and the bone was visible. Turns out they don't like blood all over the waiting rooms and it got me to the back quicker on multiple occasions

These days, with the IRS breathing down their collective necks and uncertainty regarding the ACA, they are learning the hard way that good business practices are important.
I had to fire an a-hole family doctor. A very good doctor that is widely known as a dick.
The next guy I hired has done very well. I explained my position and he was receptive.

Called mine this morning for a sinus infection. Got an appointment an hour and a half later with the PA. In and out in 20 minutes. Thank you for medical professions. We would be screwed without them.

I have had Drs. I just had to wait too long for....Drs. I really liked. I simply changed Drs.

Ugh, I know. I hate doctors. That a-hole probably had a complex case that took more time; which resulted in a domino effect. What a dick.

Don't be silly, his Tee time was pushed thus his appointments were pushed back.

SO doctors, Bleeding Purple, i'm assuming your a doctor,
Why when 1 person shows up late it backs you up? There is always someone in the waiting room. Call the next one on the appointment list. People showing up late isnt a reason to be backup up, b/c you always have people waiting.
I do'nt buy that excuse at all.

I can understand dealing with morons that give life stories and chit chat and complain about cost of this and that and trying to get drugs from you, but i have never been to a doctors appointment where i got to see the doctor within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment time.
