Waiting at doctor's office

Why do doctors never ever never ever never ever keep appointments? When they schedule the appointment, they know that you're going to be sitting and waiting and waiting and waiting. Is there a more selfish and arrogant profesion than doctors?

good question.... but, if you're late you have to reschedule.

Hmmm...Could be that someone ahead of you took longer than expected?

go to a shittier doctor that has less patients. or pay more so they don't need as many patients.

My uncle is a dentist and when I worked for him he would know the patient was ready for the check up and i would walk into his office and see him on the internet buying stupid stuff.
They know, they just don't care about you

The failure of the doctor to keep the appointment is 100% of the time.

Why do I have to make an appointment to get results? Just call or mail them. Don't make me sit for an hour, pay a copay/deductible just so you can bill my insurance another $400 and tell me it's not cancer.

Yep, just another example of selfish and arrogant doctors.

I'm sitting in one right now. They expect you to be there fifteen minutes early, I'm fifteen minutes in front of that and I will be lucky to get out of here by noon. Oh another hour at the pharmacy, good times

Just look at it as an opportunity to up your post count.

Well there's that. At least I'm not having to read year old magazines while waiting.

Maybe so he or she can explain the results to you or answer any questions you might have about the results. I bet you don't hesitate to hand over the equivalent of your copay daily on trivial things, but then again why should a doctor expect to be reimbursed for his time.

Ugh, I know. I hate doctors. That a-hole probably had a complex case that took more time; which resulted in a domino effect. What a dick.

Why should a doctor make an appointment he knows he's not going to keep....and have absolutely no concern for not keeping it?

I had the very first appointment last Friday at 7:00am. There at 6:50. Receptionist unlocked the door at 6:55. Only patient in the office until a second person showed up at 7:15. I finally saw the doctor at 8:21

Since they seem to always have these cases, why are they too stupid/uncaring to schedule appointments differently?

This, I don't understand why they can't just work for free

First, nothing needs to be explained about not having cancer.
Second, a 10 minute conversation doesn't cost $400
Third, you're more likely to speak with the PA than the doc anyway.

Why can't patients be reimbursed for the hours they have to wait because the doctor can't ever keep an appointment?
