I drove from NYC to Louisiana 5 years ago and was a little stunned to see one just 3.5 hours into the drive home in the city of Carlisle, PA. I had no idea this southern Interstate staple were that far north.

BTW, you can get he same pancake mix they use to make them. It's available in the Cracker Barrel store. Whenever we stop by one the Mrs. gets a box so she can make them for us at home.

I thought we had 66 in just Baton Rouge.

I didn't know it isn't a national brand.

Is she able to obtain the crispy exterior edges that Cracker barrel does so well? That is the reason I like them so much.

I never understood why people think they have to make a choice between pancakes and waffles. I love both.

Is it the batter that encourages this or is it cooking technique? I ask because those pancakes are one of my fvorite meals and if I can have my wife cook them with the same results at home a trip to buy up all of the batter from the local Cracker Barrel will be made soon.

I ate at one last year in some Georgia suburb. It sucked. I don't see how they even stay in business. They could never make it out here.

I got a great waffle maker as a wedding gift. I put all kinds of mixtures in it. And pancakes don't have shite on a good waffle.
