From the link, this is what I gather what they want to do:
If I am missing more, please help a brotha out. That said, here are my questions:
people are already using the OMRB. How much more traffic do they think it can handle before its a cluster frick as well?
I10 is a federal road, no? Wouldn't the feds have to approve and widen the interstate?
haven't we been discussing a new bridge for years already? with no agreement on where to put said bridge? Why should I pay an extra $62.00/year to prolong the disagreement?

Promote use of the 190 bridge
widen I10 from Asc to BR
build new bridge over MR

Has traffic improved? At all?
Just from my neck of the woods:
--Do you not remember southbound traffic on Perkins heading toward Bluebonnet in the 90s? It was backed up to Imahara's everyday and often all way back to Bles Rd.
--Burbank was the same way southbound to Gardere would back up to Lakeside Daq.
--Highland Northbound to Gardere would back up to bluebonnet.
--Siegen Southbound at Highland would back up to Perkins when someone wanted to turn left at Natchez Trace or Quail Ridge.
So yea. Shush. And vote for the fricking plan.

As a matter of fact it HAS improved things in the areas the plan addressed.
The problem is we are 20-30 years behind in infrastructure so every improvement seems like a drop in the bucket.
did the plan anticipate hurricanes and floods increasing the traffic flow immensely?

but this dedicated tax has been proven solid and well spent.

I-10 Widening (one lane in both directions) Through Baton Rouge
Cost Range – $350 M
Aside from a lacking a loop, the biggest issue with interstate traffic in Baton Rouge is the 12-110 corridor.
Going East you're taking 6 lanes of traffic (4 from 10, 2 from 110) then condensing it down to 4 (by cutting 2 out to go onto 110) then 3.
Going West is very similar. Three lanes from 10 and three lanes from 12 merge into 5, then 4, then 3.
Adding one lane in each direction isn't going to do much. For the amount of the disruption that will cause they need to add 2-3 lanes.

I'll be voting no, not that it will matter.
If they want the money to do the roads, then they can steal it from the two stupid arse taxes that just passed, as well as the Brec tax, and the dumbass library tax last year, and CATS.

How can we possibly add up all the taxes we pay in LA? We are nickled and dimed to death. When you argue any single tax someone always says "how much is that little tax??"

Sure, I'm all for more taxes, why not? I currently do not feel that I work enough long hours each week only to have my hard earned money get pissed away by the many inefficient programs this state already has in place. Where do I sign up?
frick any additional taxes! If the state wants to implement any new programs they need to either eliminate old programs or be more efficient with the money they already get. I'm sick of the state neglecting major issues for years and asking for more tax money to fix them. If we continue to throw money at them they will continue to ask for more and more. How about we find a way to do more with the money the state already gets? If they want this or any other program they need to do what many households in Louisiana are forced to do - tighten the belt, reduce spending, and make existing programs/initiatives more efficient.
Also: Want millions in more tax dollars each year, along with more jobs? LEGALIZE MARIJUANA

I agree the LA Constitution needs to be changed and the state's revenue/budget model vastly altered.
But this is the system you fine citizens voted on.
Please don't use your anger over unneccessary taxes protecting shitty causes stop you from voting on worthy items such as PGL.
Symbolic voting gets us nowhere. If you wish to shutdown some dedicated taxes then push for repeals. Voting No on PGL won't get the message across and will only result in you sitting in traffic longer as the city grows beyond its infrastructural means.

This is an EBR tax, not state level.

Agree to disagree. I think voting No to any new or renewals will send a message.

Louisiana has a annual budget of roughly $19B
Louisiana has an infrastructure backlog of $12B
Meaning you would have to virtually eliminate every state agency, program and employee to adhere to your cut/replace policy

So every project in the backlog will be completed in one year if approved?

Has that message been heard yet?
I'll be sitting in traffic in Ascension this evening thanks solely to voters feeling their voting "No" on infrastructure projects "sends a message"
The only message the Parish Council heard was "stop trying to improve because it will just get voted down"

First of all....bullshite
Second of all....I want to see those who have neglected this "backlog" to the tune of $12B fired, fined, and imprisoned. We the people need accountability for the tax dollars we have already paid to this state for many many years. Where has all the money gone? I'm no longer interested in bailing out the State of Louisiana due to years of willful neglect by our government. frick ANY NEW TAXES! Let's work to REDUCE taxes for the good people of Louisiana.

well grab your wallet buddy, cause the state is getting ready to increase the gas tax by double digits!! Yes you can add another .20/gallon for gas. Cause you know gas is only $1.94/gallon right now. But when it goes up to $2.50-2.75/gallon, you and I will be paying over $3/gallon cause JBE thinks its just by God time we increase that gas tax.
This fricking state!!
