nah its cooler to play GTA/military when you are a cop and can get away with shooting people. Why use common sense and tactics that might defuse the situation. It is way cooler for the big blue gang to come flying up guns blazing.

The cop appearing to be puking behind the squad car after he realized what he had done seems indicative of knowledge of guilt...or at least that he REALLY fricked up.
I assumed he was just taking cover behind the car?
Afterwards the Cops determined the kid to be 'about 20 years old'

A guy in high school got suspended (2003) for aiming their finger, pointing and making a gun sound at another student
I remember that he was EXPELLED, the parents raised hell, and then the school board reduced it to a suspension.

nope. all cops should be made to wear cameras
Was there a dash cam in the car? If so, at the very least it would have audio to verify what the cops were saying.

You seem to be supporting the murderer of a 12 yr old...I would say you're clearly supporting the actions of a thug pos.

I think everyone did wrong on this day.
The caller didn't mention it was a kid. (He said there's a guy pointing a gun at people. It may be a fake gun, but he's scaring the shite out of me")
The dispatcher didn't ask more, and didn't relay that.
Why did the cops barrel in so close? Why didn't they command "Hands up", as opposed to "Drop your weapon!"?
Why did the parents not teach the kid that you don't point a pellet gun at people? (Not a toy gun, a pellet gun. Any gun? Pointing at people in the park, point blank?) Who gave him a pellet gun without teaching him that.
The last point will not be discussed on CNN. Why not? Race?

The cop should be prosecuted in this case from what I can tell. Poor tactics and judgment and probably a scared rookie with an itchy trigger finger.
Unlike the Mike Brown situation this one looks like a case where the cops are in the wrong. Its amazing what happens when you look at the case objectively as possible instead of letting racial bias take over your judgement.

Not buying that they told him to drop the gun 3 times. Within two seconds of them arriving the kid is already shot. Even if they told him to drop the gun they never gave him a chance to comply. I dont see him pointing the gun at the cops.

If you have a gun in your waistband and a cop tells you to put it down, how do you do that without reaching for it?

Well, which is it young fella? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? Mean to say, iffen I freeze, I can't rightly drop. And iffen I drop, I'm a gonna be in motion.

I was thinking the exact same thing. So tired of this stupid racial bias with certain people. It derails from what's really important in these cases: If the police were in the right or wrong.

He reaches for his waistband and doesn't seem to think anything of a cop car barreling in...dumb kid...cops acted poorly but this isn't murder
