Could have fooled me. I thought the U.S. had severely cut back on oil and gas production.

What made you believe that? The data is public domain and shows that the US is producing more oil than ever in its history.

Democrats have no interest in shutting down oil and gas or putting an end to fossil fuels. This is just a carrot that they dangle in front of Libs to continue getting their votes and help launder taxpayer money.

If we are exporting record oil products. Why are our fuel prices so high?

We would have to import and export much less if we could expand our refining capabilities. Most of what we export can’t really be refined here.

The US is producing now, but there has to be consistent new investment to keep production at current levels going out into the future.

You do understand that, don't you?

Because refining capacity is maxed out and they won't build anymore.

Edit: Maybe maxed out wasn't a good way to put it, but refining utilization is currently around 87%. It typically averages around 89-90% and hit 94% in August.

FOX has been pushing the myth that Biden shut down US oil production since day one of that administration. We are producing record levels of oil and gas.
The primary destination of exports of oil are Mexico and Canada. Well below these are exports to Netherlands, Korea and Chyna at about 6.5 % each.

Youtube

To be fair, modern day white democrats have been going at the oil companies a lot the last 10 years or so. Biden stated he wanted to transition. I agree, don't trust anything they say, as they seldom do what they say, it's all about votes. I think Rs have a hard time with that, they believe everything a D politician says they want to do, but occasionally it does happen, like Covid restrictions for so long and such. It's not Fox, it's going by what comes out of the mouths of not only D politicians, but modern day white democrat voters.

Thats kinda the reasonable expectation when he loudly says he will stop the drilling.

And then he quietly ramps it up.
