Is there a worse stretch of US Highway in America than the sections both coming into Lafayette and leaving Lafayette? Also, the sections of US Highway 90 through the city of Lafayette are pretty bad.

Went through Lafayette heading to I49 north on Sunday and returned yesterday in the RV. I think everything is the RV is now loose from all the bouncing around.

Last night I thought about driving on the service/frontage roads instead of staying on US 90.

I can't complain. Drove down Adams yesterday. Mogadishu level. Drove through two lawns because the street was that bad.

In between Starbucks and the Modern Men and right smack dab in the middle of the street is a legitimate crater. I'm convinced it could not have been formed by natural causes and some slapdick Tulane undergrad has been jackhammering at 3:00 AM on Saturday mornings when everyone in that neighborhood is at Snake's.

If it rains enough to puddle, people have no idea that their car is about to fall into a two feet deep hole. It's unbelievable.

I thought Louisiana had the worst roads until I moved to Pennsylvania.

It's a combination of roads being old and built to standards of a bygone era, winter damage, heavy traffic, and lack of maintenance, which i understand is kind of made worse due to the "turnpike authority" and toll funding models.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike is really a difficult to drive in spots -- heavy traffic, narrower than a normal interstate, and dangerously short on/off ramps. Occasionally, one of these very short approaches will have a stop sign at the end of it immediately prior to merging. You really see the difference when you drive on more modern freeways like I-80 across N PA.

I-49 through Rapides Parish. Not the road itself, but because it goes through Rapides Parish.

The block between Hampson and Maple looks like a war zone/IED playground. I drove down there a few nights ago after it had rained. Those puddles really hide how deep those potholes are.

The right lane of 90 is garbage as hell. Driving on that shite while watching for troopers gives me a headache. I speed up and down the fast lane. ...now with a radar detector.
