They may not have known he killed someone or was a fugitive. Probably didn't come home and tell grandma he killed someone earlier.

Why can't they go with a regular search warrant? What is all this SWAT shite and is it causing more confrontation than usual methods because of the tactics?

What I'm trying to say is he obviously didn't intend to kill the kid. It was a tragic accident and the grandma may have swatted the weapon. She claims she didn't ,but I have a hard time finding her credible considering the murderer in her family.

What is being ignored here is the man was suspected of committing a crime at the time of the incident not an escaped dangerous felon. These dipshits wanted to impress the camera crew and this is the result.

Neither, this is 100% not an accident and is a result of fricking dimwits w anting to play army. Seems to fit the statute for involuntary manslaughter in to a t, although I am not an lawyer.
How about instead of throwing flashbangs and stormtroopers into a family home they just wait a pick up the suspect when he walks outside or call and tell him to come out. You would still have the option to play GI Joe if that did not work. What you would not have is maimed toddlers from flasbangs being thrown into their cribs and dead children.
Home invasions should be saved for the most extreme circumstances and not be carried out by obviously incompetent individuals as these in this story. Claiming he did not know he fired an MP5 is a joke.

I don't believe people understand how often this happens.
I've been told it is ridiculous to expect police to have conducted surveillance on a property before acquiring a no-knock, smash-and-grab warrant. Collateral consequence keep you safe -- think big picture.

He's not being charged with intending to kill the kid.

People keep trying to figure out who to blame but it seems to me that multiple people deserve the blame here.

Not sure, but some ppl here seem to expect the cops to just stroll in all howdy doody and make the arrest. It's not always that simple..
