re: Two Spaces or One Space after a Sentence?

This is the first I’ve even heard of the one space thing, so I guess I fall into the two category.

I've never heard of anybody using 2 spaces after a sentence. How old are you?

Why would you even do that? There's no reason to,

Two spaces made sense back when everyone used typewriters with fonts that weren't proportional. It visually helped separate sentences better.

Now that everything's a word processor with variable fonts, one space is enough and that's what I do. Anyone who disagrees can meet me at Sonic for a type-off.

Old people use two, because typewriters had letters all of the same width. Now that we have programs like Word that have different width letters, people use one.

So....old people use two (or people taught by old people), and young people use one. Both are acceptable.
