Not this case in this situation. Exactly the opposite, actually. She kept two people from getting fired.
My point was, I always lol at people that get pissed when they are passed on a promotion because they have X years more experience than their new boss.

They are cutting costs, which makes sense because logistics is a low margin industry.
First party have huge overhead.
Third party have tiny margins.
I saw the writing on the wall and got out a few years ago.

Get used to this. See it all the time. Companies willing to put up with shitty performance for a few years while the kid gets up to speed.

Something else dleant make sense..
Did you demand a certain amount to be promoted? How did they save the 25k? Why couldn't they offer you the job at your current salary and hire the kid for you old job?
I'm shooting you straight here, they do not fear you leaving will hurt them. They don't value you. I can't wrap my head around the reason you would have cost 25k more when you're already on the payroll.

I am lucky to be in a position where knowledge is scarce and the field isn't widely advertised: Public Procurement and Acquisitions.
The job I have now they picked me over the incumbent because well, I brought more to the table. I'm considered expert level in my field. I know a lot of shite but there is such a vacuum of knowledge available in Louisiana. It's easy to move up.
An example was that I was the only one newly licensed in LA. Most states had at least 4-5.

I think he's saying they hired this kid for less than op is making now.
Companies generally will not "promote" without salary increase, especially when said increase has been expected because they don't expect you to stick around

Current payroll is $55k. I asked $70k to be the supervisor over my peers. They hired the noob for $45k. The job I have is a CDL field job - for the new guy to take my job it would involve him having to get a CDL license, which isn't the easiest thing in the world these days. The job I was interviewing for is a supervisor desk job at the main office doing performance reviews, cdl log supervision, log audits, equipment inspections, etc. I've got 5 years of college plus three years experience in the field, you'd think that'd be worth an extra $15k since I've practically seen it all when it comes to logistics and if this new guy doesn't catch an error it can mean big fines to the company. Apparently they're willing to roll the dice on him not fricking up...

Well then move the OP up and put the kid in his old position for 25k less.
There is something not right about them paying starting salary to a new kid with no experience in a leadership role.
OP, get out, the company is in financial trouble in some way. Don't allow them to lean on you to teach a kid because they are cheap. This is a badly mismanaged company.
What field is this in? Company name?

What does 5 years of college mean? Like you tried 5 years and finally quit?

Sounds like a job that does not require much experience. They just need someone smart enough to do it and the new grad can do it for a lot less than what you are asking.

Sounds like corporate America for you.

leadership role.
After reading the OP's description, I'm not sure I would classify this as a leadership role. It's mostly reporting and filing paperwork at a desk job and not someone who makes critical decisions for the company. 70k sounds like a very high salary for the job description considering the OP only has 3 years of work experience.

It's more than that as I was giving a basic overview, I looked up similar positions at other companies and got anything from $60k to $90k.

If a company is willing to do this, you need to move on.

Can generally relate.... What type of job, industry, etc. makes a difference.. but, at some point a person stops chasing the rainbow's and makes a stand. Decides to be the best at what he does regardless of outside factors or opinions, believes in himself and that the hard work will pay off..... It worked for me.

What exactly do you do? Are there always openings for your particular line of work? Is your job something you could even start your own business?
