No tornadoes today but we have had golf-ball sized hail in parts of DFW.

On this day in 1884 - the 1st recorded photograph of a tornado was taken on this date by A.A. Adams near Garnett, Kansas.

He got a good laugh out of it... apparently it's something that he hasn't spent a whole lot of time on in the last year and hasn't done any kind of comprehensive study with. I've used it to forecast convection in Asia to some success but haven't verified it against actual severe weather, only incidences of aviation-relevant convection.

The run yesterday picked up on the higher threat being in N. Louisiana today. Also, the GEFS reforecast had N. Louisiana highlighted for today. Now to see what kind of verification today gets, tornadoes are the hardest svr wx to forecast (IMHO).

This ways always pegged as a potentially active week. It's nearly impossible to pin down the smaller scale issues that make or break a given days svr wx forecast. So the outlooks from the days before don't always matchup with the day of.

Interesting update from SPC. It looks like a line of storms it going to move east across Arkansas today but the strong cap shown in the 12z SHV sounding could keep N. Louisiana storm free until later in the day. That could keep the threat for discrete cells farther south in N. Louisiana vs. farther north in Arkansas where storm mode looks linear or at least messy.
