The EBR Parish School System facebook page should be epic tonight.

"Whyyyyy aren't they closing school????????"

One of the best nights on the OT was that night back in 2010 or so where it was really cold and the facebook pages were hoppin.

Yea, I think the best chance is Lake Charles to Lafayette. We may get a little for an hour or so but that's it. What do you think?

I'd have to agree. They'll get the moisture at the right time (early).
BUT, web bulb could do its magic as precip moves east.
I live in EBR and teach in Point Coupee so I hope the old bridge is ok.

I'm skeptical that that it'll even rain, and if it does it'll likely be too late to be freezing. It's still really dry around the surface. Most of the wintery stuff will probably evaporate before it hits the ground. Who knows though? Winter weather is tricky for the professionals to predict, much less a couple of weather dorks posting on TD.

Since there's only a "slight" chance of winter precip, & nobody's paying attention, probably a foot.

Hope so. Pure hilarity.

looks like SW/Ctrl Louisiana is up in the air - hard to predict.

quote:

So the bottom-line is that we may see some light precipitation Thursday night into Friday morning and areas north of US 190 could see minor ice accumulations, but it will not likely be a major problem. However it should be noted that if the precipitation can reach the ground sooner and the temperatures are colder than expected there could be significant icing issues; although this looks unlikely at this time. By 9 or 10 a.m.
