To the OT, is fishing classier, trashier, or equal to hunting?

ETA: fishing out of a boat or fly fishing a blue ribbon stream, not sitting on a bucket on the bank

Lately I have observed that married men who buy a fishing kayak are in bad marriages

I thought about that, but I didn't want to pick just one type out of bass, fly, inshore, offshore, etc.

For the sake of argument, fishing in a boat or fly fishing on a river.

Both are trashy. Posing for pictures with dead animals is trashy too.

well then you have to categorize the type of hunting as well

private lease vs public, type of animal, etc

I mean I feel like both are somewhat classy and are not trashy in the least

Fishing off a boat or designated fishing pier? Not trashy.

Fishing in a drainage canal in Metairie? Yes.

And frick anyone fishing in the middle of the day off the beach in Florida. Save it for dawn/dusk if absolutely necessary. Not while everyone is trying to swim.

is some of the best fishing

I've been deep sea fishing for tuna, fly fishing for tiny brook trout, shark fishing off jersey shore.

its about the memories with friends and families and eating good after

They can both be classy or trashy. Overall, fishing is probably classier.
