I don't think it's a bad idea to make Louisiana Purchase cards more like WIC where they can only buy certain food products. Things like sugary drinks and Snickers bars should be off limits. That might help.
Medicaid could also contract with gyms like private insurers do. I have no problem with Medicaid paying $20 a month for someone to go work out.

Obesity is a serious problem in the trucking industry and if there was someone with cash looking to open a business - fitness centers in/near truck stops would be welcomed with open arms. At this point is be willing to pay $75 a month to have a safe place to jog without having to worry about getting hit in parking lots or spraining an ankle in a pothole. A lot of other people feel the same way I do but all of these chain truck stops keep building with fast food and beer. I keep a pair of powerblocks in the truck to help because it's obnoxiously rare to find a decent place to wlak/jog around these truck stops.

The fat people I see riding fat carts at grocery stores are too fat to wipe themselves. They are totally disgusting to look at, and unclean to boot.

Hate to tell you, but I've been to some pretty nice places and the fatties invaded there as well.
I don't even think it's that these people are so overweight, it's the lack of modesty they have. These fat bastards will wear a bikini or go shirtless with no shame or regard for how they look.

I did however see a big fatass woman recently that couldn't make it to the grocery door without sucking down a cigarette. I just had to laugh.
