It was never in the cards for me but it would have been pretty damn good. My brother law stays at home and has been happily married for 25 years and raised two kids. Always has a project going on around the house and catches more fish in a week than I do in 3 months. Must be nice.

Any of y'all on here stay at home and let the old lady provide?

I would feel like my manhood would be threatened.

It would be hard for me to be a stay at home dad as well. I'm so used to working I don't know what I would do if I wasn't working. But, if I had to be a stay at home dad I think I would grow into it.

They're usually the type who also use the woman's already shitty car because they don't have one of their own, and also have her buy his cigarettes.

My first thought/feeling is jealously. Would be great, but financially impossible.

I couldn't do it. I need to feel like I'm providing... Thats probably a flaw to guys like the one who wrote the article afraid about being afraid to have a son. I'd have to DO SOMETHING at home like woodworking to sell for extra cash or something similar. Don't get me wrong, it'd be awesome to be home with my kids in their early childhood, but I think the guilt would wear on me

I bet one could develop it into a lucrative venture slaying the stay at home MILFs in the neighborhood.

I left my last employer 7 months ago and have been a stay at home dad since. It's been great.

I have young children and I was gone way too much for work (3 to 4 nights a week for 6 + years). Can't recapture that time, however I am doing what I can to do just that.

I'll be going back to work soon, but it's been great to be "off." My wife supported this idea and fortunately for us, we can live off her income.

I'd do it as long as I got a nice allowance.

Plus you could pull the "and what do you think I was doing all day? This house didn't clean itself" card.

I have a much older cousin who is a stay at home dad. His wife is an OT baller (she grosses around 400) and he stays at home. He used to be a really fun, cool guy, but now he's miserable and angry. If you have any testosterone, it's probably not for you.

Not quite the same, but my company is letting me telecommute for the first few months of my daughter's life. We were lucky to be able to work this out since my wife went back to school and could only miss 2 clinical days during the semester without having to retake the class.

I'm ecstatic that I get to be around for these first few months. Not every dad gets this chance, and for the first week of it, I've been loving the hell out of it.

But after this week, I'll be working while home, so I don't really fit OP's criteria.

Your cousin's wife is probably cuckolding him (literally) too.

My husband is a stay at home dad. He is a terrific father and takes care of all of us. We are incredibly lucky to live off of one income....it helps that he manages all of the finances as well.

I've been thinking about getting myself fired to be a stay at home dad. With wife's income, we can swing it. She'll just be pissed at me.
