If you believe in funding Swaggart's world, go ahead. I'd probably choose home schooling over that place, and my opinions on home schooling are not very complimentary.

If you're in Ascension save money and send your kids there. Particularly Dutchtown or St Amant. That's the whole point of living in Ascension.
If you have a couple kids you'd be wasting over 100k dollars sending them to a private school. I went to multiple private schools as a student and now as an adult I teach in Ascension. I'd recommend Ascension over the schools you mentioned even without factoring in cost. Factoring in cost it is a no brainer.

So, how long do you think we all wait on that pic before we start passing the time by teaching your wife how to search your post history?

It's not always just about the education though. I agree that AP schools are excellent in that category. I send mine to Catholic school for the included spiritual aspect as well.

To attend FCA your child will be required to become indoctrinate into their religious beliefs and thinking. I would think long and hard unless you are comfortable with your money and education for your child with the Swaggart's.

I always thought the kids who went to the small private schools (few hundred students spanning prek-12th) were weird as frick.
Just above the loser home-schooled kids.

This is the answer. I went to private schools all the way from K-12th and then to LSU. My kids go to private catholic schools now and it's great and all, but we're parishioners. We live in BR because we work here... but if I'd have made the switch to Ascension back in the day, I'd be vested in their schools. Dutchtown/St Amant are the easy solution. If you try now to get your kids in a Christian school in BR, it's gonna be a pain in the arse traffic-wise, budget-wise... everything.
You're already in God's country. I'd stay there. Get involved in your local schools and your kids' homework and enjoy the money you're saving.

Any thoughts on Family Christian Academy elementary grades (like K-5th)?
Its awful. Dont even consider it if you value your child's education. Any school public in Ascension would be a better. If you are looking for a cheaper option look at St Jude in Baton Rouge.

Family Christian is practically a cult. If you want to get a glimpse of the culture, go to church there one Sunday to see for yourself. It's a hell and damnations church.

There are all kinds of reasons why someone might want that setup. You're being narrow minded.

I visited there one day over 30 years ago and still have nightmares.

I live in PVille off of Perkins Rd. I work at an Ascension parish school. We send our girls to a Catholic school in SE BTR. We are active in the church parish. We have been very pleased with the school.
Do your research before making the decision.
Our biggest issue was the middle schools. They have big problems with discipline. That's not unique to Ascension.
And the average ACT score at the high schools in Ascension is not close to SJA, Catholic or St Michael's.

Our kids go to St John/St Theresa and we're very happy.
