To be fair, I've never been kept up at night and driven nuts by my neighbor's barking cat and I've had many dogs shite on the lawn (much bigger than cat turds too). I also had the neighbor's dog knock over the trash can a numerous times looking for food which was a huge mess. I love dogs, but dogs can be a huge pain in the azz too.

Yes, I do. They were very useful in keeping mice and other pests populations in control in a time before modern medicine, which kept disease down in densely populated areas but their utility never came close to that of canines and still doesnt. There are dogs that sniff cancer for gods sake and help blind people navigate the world.
