Black is was owned by the owner of Zeus' Place. I know the owner well. They are a huge rescue organization and also have a grooming business. Blackie was not a feral cat, but was someone's pet. Two of her other cats are still missing.

No one said that. Im just postulating. These are behaviors that most cats partake in to some degree. I was offering an alternative view of why this fellow might have been eradicating the nuisance animal problem.

I havent seen any statement about his motives. I may have missed it. Its completely possible that hes just a psycho that enjoys seeing things suffer but that doesnt mean that we should discount the legitimacy of culling an overpopulated species.
I get that people think fluffy is their 3rd child but many people dont view felines that way. To many, cats are no different than opossums, racoons, squirrels and other "huntable" animals.
Cats are not dogs that have been with humans far longer and were utility animals and in many cases vital to the survival of early humans. Hell, they arent even on the level of horses that were a cowboy, pioneer, soldier or warriors best friend and depended on for ones very existence. Cats are simply residential adornments that we've given way too much credence to in our cushy, privileged, modern society.

Cats are way more useful than dogs in the average american home. Cats kill mice and other pests. Dogs are a headache.
