We disagree on this, but just about everybody's 1/2 ton trucks do really well.
Nothing on the planet holds value like a Tacoma though.

Toyota's quality has fallen significantly over the past few years.

This is common knowledge and everyone but the lemmings know this.

You are right. There was a huge and noticeable difference between my 1993 Camry and our 2006 model. That 2006 Camry was actually the most problematic car I've had to deal with in recent memory. Our Silverado and our Accord have both been far more reliable, less problematic vehicles.

My parents used to buy Avalons every 5-6 years and they stopped abruptly after a bad experience with a mid 2000's model.

I just don't trust the brand any more than I would other brands....and when you recognize that their cars are not particularly reliable relative to their competition anymore, they pretty much have almost nothing going for them that isn't done better somewhere else.

On the other hand, their mid sized trucks are still pretty sturdy, and have good resale, but they are dated and behind the times.

I'd definitely go with a Colorado or Canyon if I were buying now in that market. I'd also give the new Frontier a serious look when it comes out soon.

They are all getting more expensive as well. That's why I think the mid sized truck market will come back in a big way over the next 4-6 years.

Damn near all Toyota trucks, vans & SUVs I've seen overseas are diesel. Not sure why they don't use them here.

My Hilux is a diesel. Thing is nearly indestructible.

Following your reasoning, my Porsches could find agreement, but disagree..

Also own an 06 Sequoia. Very dependable.

I'm about to trade my 2005 Acura and Jeep in on one for the daughter. They are the perfect vehicle for snow.
