Don't want to jump to conclusions, but just FYI I do not believe used vehicles qualify for he federal credit. Not familiar with all of the states' tax programs (I know GA had an awesome one that even included leases), so pardon my ignorance if this is how you plan to get it subsidized.

But from what I have gathered, the fed credits are actually by manufacturer. This was also before Tesla started the certified program so maybe things have changed since then.

I bet that at battery is pro-rated, just like Wal-Mart.

Oh you know it is. Not like they could promise 8 years on each battery or you get a new one...they could never sell replacements.

the P85D's "insane mode,

I have a couple buds who have driven the insane mode. Both guys are around awesome, hi dollar cars all the time. They can't stop gushing over how nice that P85D is and just how wild the insane mode really is.

No doubt. It would be an awesome 3rd or 4th car.

Not exactly apples to oranges, but Consumer Reports found Prius Batteries to be relatively unchanged after 200,000 miles.

I have 4 Prius (Prii?), one personal and 3 in my wok fleet. Most have over 125,000 mi and none have had even a minor battery issues. Because of the ominous predictions, I was concerned early on, but no longer. I assume Tesla will have at least the same battery life.
