quote:

The slowest base model will go from 0 to 60 in less than six seconds. “We don’t make slow cars,” Musk said.

The lowest range of the lineup will be “at least” 215 miles, but is expected to do much better than that. More expensive options will far exceed this range, Musk said.

All Model 3 trims will come stock with available autopilot safety features. No additional packages, no paywall—just day one semi-autonomous capabilities.

The Model 3 sits five adults “comfortably,” with the interior space maximized by being able to push the dashboard and “firewall” as far forward as possible. The car of course comes with the standard front and rear trunk spaces.

Wpw, that could be a game changer. I wonder what the more expensive models cost.

Did they fix the blow up bug or are they like iPhones and they blow up after a year so that you have to get the next model?

Not sure I like the front end...or the interior.

It reminds you of the Cars movie...doesn't it?

I'd actually consider it, but what about repairs? It looks like official repair shops are few and far between.

That must be a frequent question. How do they respond?

I'm curious as well. From what I've read, Teslas require very frequent repairs.

I guess it's okay if you live near one of their official repair shops. I'm about 90 minutes away from one, which isn't too bad. For reference, the local Mercedes, Lexus, and Cadillac dealers are on my way to work, and they'll actually provide a loaner car to use for the day while they perform service.

Working for a company that provides a car allowance that fits in this range, I would definitely look at one. Not sure I would consider with my own money, but as a work vehicle it would be decent.

That isn't really true. Most of their repairs/recalls have been done via overtheair upgrades, and the consumer report contained early production cars.

They have very high customer satisfaction and that same ConsumerReport you linked gave them the highest grade ever shortly before.

Woof. They should stick to taking pictures in low light.

Before what? Before they figured out they have pretty serious reliability issues? I know they no longer recommend the S because of problems reported by the owners.

That's a big problem for those of us that are an hour or more away from the nearest Tesla repair center.

Where are things with rapid charge technology now? Until someone can charge up on the go for long road trips, electric will never become feasible for a large chunk of Americans.

not sure how to feel about the dashboard. I feel like trying to navigate the touchscreen could be a problem while driving.

There was nothing confusing about the sentence

Doesn't Tesla have the highest, or near the highest, customer satisfaction?

It should be viewed as a city car with the current state of tech. I have 2 within 20 miles. They take care of any transportation while under warranty.

The front end without a grill looks weird but frick, I'd probably still be interested in getting one.

....or until an affordable full electric car can be had with a reliable, predictable 400 mile range in highway driving. I think that will happen within the decade. That's about the same range a typical driver has before they get tired and fatigued.

Holding out for the Model X but I've been very happy with the xc90 plug in hybrid.
