They lost in WW2 because they were negligent in their preparations for it because they assumed their uber fortifications would give them an unassailable defensive position.

Wasn't there a treaty in place that Germany violated (didn't the Germans go through Belgium to get into France)? Wasn't France and their military forces devastated from all they gave up in WWI? It's fun to poke fun at the French but they've seen some shite.

My great great great grandfather came to louisiana from France, was a winemaker that lived to be 105.

Are you arguing that Germany got off lightly from WW1?
And lol at the notion that Germany didn't fight according to the "rules" in respecting territory in their invasion.
Again, they lost because they assumed the line (which was focused on Germany) would buy them all the time they needed to respond to an invasion.
It was basically a WW1 uber trench, never mind the rest of the world switched to more effective defensive strategies.
Furthermore, the heavy static defenses (which obviously were not mobile in order to respond to threats) took up a lot of the defense budget to maintain, which further weakened their ability to respond.
Their defensive doctrine depended on the notion that the Germans would invade in a direct frontal assault and would just keep walking into the machine gun and artillery fire. No back up plans, that was it.
Because the Germans didn't follow through with the script the French have them, France was unable to respond.
And lol at the notion that Germany didn't fight according to the "rules" in respecting territory in their invasion.

You obviously know more than me which is why my post was phrased in the form of questions.
From what I know (which isn't a lot), France is still recovering from what they gave in WWI. I'm sure Germany suffered tremendous losses as well, but it wasn't much later they nearly took over the continent again.
Either way, I don't blame the French for their submission. As you said, the Germans apparently suffered tremendous losses as well, maybe that's why the French, who were also rebuilding, didn't think they'd be invaded again in such a short amount of time.

The French initiated hostilities with the Germans in WWII. They weren't caught by surprise. And they didn't just capitulate, they were completely outmaneuvered and legitimately defeated. The British forces in mainland Europe were likewise routed.
The general point is, however, that the French are not some cowardly or militarily incompetent nation like the mouth breathing rednecks of the world like to portray them as.

France (England close behind) is a country that has let the Liberal PC crowd rule for decades. This is a direct result. They let Muslims form their own extremist communities & allowed to practice their "sharia" law without having to assimilate at all to French culture.
Anyone notice the beginning of the announcement: law enforcement told to carry weapons at all times" now!?!!? WTF! That's right, police officers usually only carry a fracking billy club. Apparently the officers that reported initially to the newspaper massacre arrived on their.....BICYCLES!! What a joke that country has become. US better watch out...same thing could happen here.

I read "carry weapons at all times" to mean carry when off duty.

I don't think you know the French like you think you do. France has some of the strictest holds on their culture of any in the West. The French banned head scarfs in schools and niqabs in public, etc.

Also, as terrible as it is, the 12 people who died was like France's worst shooting massacre of all time. We've had about 3 or 4 that bad this decade alone. Just something to think about before you start momgoloid blaming liberal policies and Obama for this attack

All of this conjecture can be fun sometimes, but it's kind of sad to think that we'll never know what truly happened during WW2.
