I lived in TW in 2005-06. Contrary to what most people will tell you, you don't have to make a lot of money to live there.
Sadly that is false now. Since Exxon announced and started building their mega complex up their, the property values have sky rocketed. I grew up at the Tomball/Magnolia/The Woodlands intersection, and my folks house is in Montgomery County. My dad almost had a stroke when he saw this years property tax haha Values as of mid 2013 are really high in The Woodlands. I graduated from Tomball back in 2007 and The Woodlands was no where near as ritzy as it is now. I was floored when I went to Bakers St Pub on the Waterway 2 months ago by the flash and new money that has flooded the area. I was in my Jetta and I looked super poor next to 2 Porches, an Aston Martin, and a Ferrari 458. The public schools up there are really good though and somewhat justify the prices.

Actually my address is considered Conroe even though I am 3 miles from the Woodlands Mall. It is between Rayford road & Woodlands pkwy.

Do you always make poor life decisions and expect great outcomes? Bad idea all around.

Sampson,
You made the trek to Mels or Goodsons yet? Mels is the hidden gem of Tomball for Southern style food, while Goodsons is well known.

Negative. Mels is down 2978, right across Spring Creek. Just take Woodlands Parkway to 2978 and head south.

Goodsons has been on the Travel Channel and Food Network. Its right off old 249 in the heart of Tomball. Bout another 10-15 minutes past Mels. Great chicken fried steak.

Also, my favorite hole in the wall breakfast place is The Nook, which is right off 2920 in Tomball, just East of 4 corners. Enjoy!
Oh and The Rib Tickler for Texas BBQ. Its right around the corner from The Nook.

Yea I know the area, we had some friends that lived in Bender's Landing
Is that Oak Ridge ISD?

We were just having dessert and feeding a teenager and had to grab something from Barnes and Noble. Surrounded by a restaurant full of people dressed up for a big night out at a chili's equivalent.
Eta: I am in nola in a little over an hour from my house with no I45 traffic. Same distance to the city.

Well it's flooding here now.

Stay away from The Mall on Friday and Saturday nights, then on Sunday afternoons. Place gets way too packed then. And The Cheesecake Factory is overrated, which is vastly documented. You should have just gone to Culvers for ice cream haha
