Yeah I have to say the serenity prayer at least 5 times a day on 45. Prepare thy anus for God awful traffic. You'll never say bad things ab BR traffic again.

Way more bang for your buck house wise. For the time being at least. Kingwood will grow like crazy in the next few years.

True. Sellers are getting over their asking price for most of the houses in the woodlands. Not much difference between kingwood and the woodlands either besides taking 59 instead of 45 to get into town.

I grew up there.

Whether or not you have kids is going to play a lot in to where you should live. Sterling Ridge area is nice if you have a family. If you're single, there are condos and such by Market Street and along the river.

I don't golf but there's plenty of good places to go.

Having lived in both cities, I completely disagree.

Sterling Ridge here. Love it but we're raising 3 little boys.

Exxon has jacked prices up but they seem to be stabilizing......we're looking at places off of Player Bend right now.

No burb better!

Is one terribly worse? I know Kingwood is not as nice as the woodlands, with far less to do, but it's still a good suburb right? I'm curious because I have thought about moving out to Kingwood.

Woodlands is quantum leaps better than Kingwood. Period.

Is Kingwood nice? Sure. Just not to the level......

I haven't spent a ton of time in Kingwood but it appears very similar. Another high end outskirts suburb of Houston with mostly families. What's the big difference?

I hear ya on that. Kingwood is just convient area closer to work. I would dread the drive down 45 from the woodlands

I lived in TW in 2005-06. Contrary to what most people will tell you, you don't have to make a lot of money to live there. I was in my first job, just married when we moved there. My daughter was born there. It's a great place to live.

I know kingwood doesn't have market street, waterway, and the pavillion but as far as the area and homes very similar.

Well if you're looking to buy a house it's expensive. It's a completely different market here from 8-9 years ago. But I agree you can find plenty of really nice 2BR condos or apartments for 1400-1800. And some respectable rental homes for around $2500.
