then how do you explain all the downvotes.

You'll have to ask whoever is doing all the downvoting, including every since post I've made in this thread.

My lil brother got his two kids names spelled out down the inside of both of his arms in the binary alphabet. It looks really fricking stupid. That is what I suggest you do.

Meh. You knew exactly how this thread would go when you first saw the title. Don't waste your breath, you know you're not changing anyone's minds.

As for the OP, you should probably just ignore this thread, the entire thing will just be people arguing about the trashiness or nontrashiness of tattoos and posters feeding their egos and validating their superiority over others.

They should not be allowed to hijack the OP's thread. That's the biggest problem with this board. Unless you want to talk about what a certain clique want to discuss, the powers that be just allow them to hijack and shite all over whatever thread they want to.

This is true...Just answer the question or don't.. Its a pretty simple concept... not many can grasp that here i'm afraid

Any serious discussion has to happen on one of the devoted boards. Maybe we need a trashball board for tattoo threads

Maybe you should stop being so sensitive about your poor "art" choices and realize that the OP asked for opinions. To say that it is "none of their business" is wrong, since he did ask. A lot of people just have the opinion that the answer to "What and Where should I get a tattoo" is "Nothing, nowhere".

Sweet. I don't have any tattoos but do plan to have the sig my son used on his art work place on my chest over my heart. It will be small and yes some tattoos are trashy but my son is
gone 10+ years now and I think I would like that. He was my everything.

Here's some things I've seen or heard of along he lines of what the OP is wanting.....

1. Roman numerals denoting their birthday (I have this)

2. Their name. Pretty common, pretty standard

(This one has a red rose, you could change it up to their birth flower for whatever month their born.)

3. Footprints or hand prints from birth certificate. I'd check and see if the tattoo artist had done these before and see how those turned out.

4. Pocket watch showing the time of their birth.

These are just a few ideas. Like I said earlier, I'd first find a tattoo artist with a good reputation for quality work and talk to them. Check out what they've done in the past and go from there.

That's the only one I've really ever considered.

Probably not the best example, but Oscar Pistorius has a pretty tattoo on his right arm of his parents' birthdays in Roman numerals.

I've thought about getting my son's birthday and my wedding date tattooed on arm in Roman numerals.

I wonder what people did to commemorate special events before trashy tats became in style?
