I love mine. We have two and would never go back. Because mine are separated I don't have to wait long for water at all, no more then with a tank. Gas is cheap too.

And to ever said it is taking 5 minutes or more for the water to warm up, you need to have it serviced because thats not normal

Noritz is the industry leader, and for good reason too.

Definitely worth it. You'll spend a lot of money on labor though. Still, instant hot water and a lower gas bill is great.

Exactly. I checks my kitchen sink that takes the longest. Under a min it was warm and under 2 was almost too hot to keep my hand there.

Mine is a Rinnai. Not sure what is best or where they rank...7 years and counting with only the gas orifice issue and that's not because the brand.

Not in overall sales, more like a distant 3rd. It's Rinnai, Takagi, and then Noritz.

I have the bosch brand from lowes. Around $450. It's marketed as a whole house if you live in the south. We just moved into my shop temporarily so I put in this electric one and I love it. Constant hot water. We can all 4 shower back to back and do dishes/clothes and no issues.

The pressure is a negative when multiple items are using the water, but it's not that big of an issue. I certainly was happy during the holidays when our house population doubled and during multiple showers, dishwashings, etc no one ever ran out of hot water. When you are the last to go to bed and the last to shower, you'll certainly think it money well spent

Had a Rinnai for 6 years and not one problem. Get it serviced every year to 18 months. With three kids it's wonderful to be the last one to take a shower and not worry about hot water. It does take the hot water a little longer to get to the kitchen sick, timed it at about 45 seconds to 1 minute. Next house I'll have two put in.

Love ours. Depending on size of house, might want one on both sides.

I've been thinking hard about getting one. I have an 80gal hot water tank, but my shower head flows close to 10gpm, so I don't have much time to screw around in the shower. Not willing to give up the shower head either. Back-to-back showers don't happen here.

What labor is involved, and what was the final cost? Is it something that I could install since the labor is so expensive?

I'm not sure on cost after the fact. But it's nice to turn on the shower (regardless of gpm)...drop a deuce...then shower in as much hot water as you can take.
