Mianus, CT

"How do you get to Mianus?"
"Is Mianus a big place?"
"Look, there is a big, red truck in Mianus."
"What's the best meat in Mianus?"
"You ever catch any brown trout in Mianus?"

There was a video a few years back of Texans trying to pronounce towns/cities in Wisconsin. I personally don't find them 'strange,' but they are certainly difficult to pronounce.

- Wausau
- Oconomowac
- Waukesha
- Pewaukee
- Mukwonago
- Waupun
- Kaukana
- Wauwatosa
- Shawano

There are a dozen (or more) others, but this is all of the top of the dome.

Soso, MS.

Don't know if the story is at all true, but I was told that the town was named because there was a railroad that passed through there and pretty much nothing else. Same guy was at the stop and when the conductor would pass through and ask how everything was going, the guy would always reply "so-so". They started calling it Soso and it stuck.

Texas has plenty, but the most ridiculous high school in Texas is in Robstown, down in south Texas. Their mascot is the Cotton Pickers. I"d say that makes the list.
