There’s been a hunting club there for many years. Got some pretty big deer in these woods

Well shite, there goes my chance at waiting on the lot prices to drop. One of the main reasons I liked it was due to the small, but big land development. Hopefully, they don’t make it this huge overcrowded home neighborhood. Reminds me a lot of how the north Atlanta metro built their communities

Money Hill is pretty cool as long as you’re fine with never leaving money hill. You can’t just say frick it, it’s been a long day let’s just pick up some pizza and cook tomorrow. Pizza is an hour away roundtrip. Same with groceries.

That’s what it’s like for me now and pretty much anyone living north of covington or abita. I just don’t live in a country club. Surely they have like a bar and grill or something at the club house? The trick is you just grab your shite on the way home from work.

Especially this time of year, it’s so dark out here frick going back out there after being home.

Looks like a nice project.

I hope they widen 21 because There’s a bad bottleneck at the beginning of 21 entering Covington.
Once they build this, I’d think it’ll get much worse.

I think they need to widen Highway 59 from the interstate to Abita pretty soon

Yeah, the club has all that. Just hop in your golf cart and you don’t have to worry about drinking and driving

I don't believe 21 will ever be widened coming out of Covington headed toward Waldheim because of all those old, expensive homes line both of the highway.

Once they finish the talisheek to 36 hwy, money hill residents can just go that way to 12. Should eliminate some traffic.

How would you know that Yankee midwestern boy? Spend a lot of time on the weekends riding horses up there?

Did everyone miss that this is a 50 year project?

It's going to be 10+ years before anything of significance is completed.

No, they haven't even sold or built on a lot of the current lots in money hill. They is a lot of construction out there, but it'll still take a long time to fill that place up.

t's my issue with Madisonville... ton's of people live there but you have to travel 20-30 minutes each way to do anything.

Umm what? I live in Madisonville. 30 minutes in each direction is Slidell and Hammond. You saying there is nothing in Mandeville or Covington?

You must live pretty close to the interstate then. It takes me about 20 minutes to get to downtown Covington and about 15 to get to the 190 exit off I-12 without traffic being backed up.

And trying to go to Mandeville via Hwy 22 is a nightmare with traffic most of the time.

I grew up in Bogalusa and thought I'd never see the day when this road was completed all the way to I-12. It was being planned when I was a kid and I'm a member of the 60+ club.

Maybe from the eastern half of Washington Parish, the same part of the Parish that a few people on here post from. Western Washington Parish isn’t the Bogalusa side, and no matter what, when St. Tammany is full those people will move north.

I think the Bogalusa to I-12 highway is being built close to Money Hill

Is that actually happening, or is still a pipe dream that politicians talk about?

I believe the 1st phase just finished, the second phase is supposed to be finished in the next 90 days, and the third phase to I-12 should be done by 2024.

I drive by the new highway every day commuting to work. They are making good progress on the first two phases but neither are really close to being done.
