not have any amenities around except for a golf course

Golf, fishing, tennis/pickle ball, gym, bar/restaurant, club events, nature trails, deer/Turkey hunting, 100 feet above sea level(very little risk of flooding brings a lot of people out), further away from Nola. I could keep going

I work in picayune so I go the back way and it takes me the same amount of time as it did from Madisonville. 20 minutes to Covington, 30 minutes to the lakefront. 40 minutes to Slidell, or work from home. Glad we got in when we did…..as a matter of fact it is kinda far out, I would rethink before moving out here. We are getting too crowded.

Thar sounds absolutely awful to me.

It’s a bit of an adjustment. Many people have not moved out here bc of it (we sold a house out there at one point). It’s not for everyone but we love the community.

Exactly, while this is a big project, Money Hill is in the middle of nowhere, next to nothing. It's my issue with Madisonville... ton's of people live there but you have to travel 20-30 minutes each way to do anything.

You are that far from everything and you are still squeezed in there with a bunch of other houses on relatively small lots.

It's definitely not for me. But I don't really play golf very much. If I lived that far out I'd want some acreage.

they got some new homes for sale in bedico creek for you. You can smell the i-12 fumes with a slight western/eastern/northern wind.

It’s 100% more awesome for people that play golf. I get that it’s still a beautiful property with a lot of cool people around and with a lot of stuff to do. I hate going to Nola so that doesn’t bother me at all. In fact, I like being further away from it.

Money Hill is pretty cool as long as you’re fine with never leaving money hill. You can’t just say frick it, it’s been a long day let’s just pick up some pizza and cook tomorrow. Pizza is an hour away roundtrip. Same with groceries.

That sounds awesome

Compared to what? Rural areas?

Most of the lots are about an acre and there’s a lot of green space between lots. Could do with a few more trees I guess but they still got plenty of em.

Yuck. Everything out there seems to be on tiny lots and most of the houses look identical. And every time you blink, there are hundreds more houses, more traffic, etc.

There is a newish Rouses in that area by Archbishop Hannan, but I'm still surprised there isn't much beyond a Dollar General between Madisonville and Ponchatoula on LA22.

Probably better than most of Livingston Parish, but that's not saying much. I'd take Money Hill over that in a heartbeat.

Agreed. It's kind of the worst of both worlds. You're out in BFE but in the middle of a subdivision.

This has always been my stance on leaving the southshore. If I ever leave Metairie it’s for the true sticks.

Not for a subdivision that only accomplishes my goal of driving a lot anytime I want to go somewhere. I like money hill, but not sure I see the market for this at current interest rates.

If they are successful in getting just another 100 houses out there, I'm sure a new grocery store and some restaurants wouldn't be too far behind....

Over the next 20 years, they'll probably be more like 1500 new houses out there.

I think the Bogalusa to I-12 highway is being built close to Money Hill so I guess once that is finished it will fuel a lot of new commercial growth.

The lakes in the map appear to be expanding so I guess they will allow water skiing.

There is already a grocery store going up at the 21 entrance. And houses are still going up like crazy in here.
